I am employed as a Robotics Navigation Engineer at Rovenso SA (Apr 2020-). Rovenso is a startup incubated at EPFL currently based near Fribourg, Switzerland. Rovenso is involved in building and deploying agile robots. I work on deploying SLAM system and developing autonomous navigation capabilities for our robotic platform ‘Roveo’.
I completed my PhD in Jan-2020 from the UAV Group of Robotics Institute (RI) at ‘Hong Kong University of Science & Technology’ (HKUST) in Hong Kong. My supervisor was Prof. Shaojie Shen in ECE Dept of the University. For my thesis I developed a CNN based place recognition system for online recovery from kidnap. I am familiar and have hands-on experience with 3D geometry, stereo vision, place recognition, object detection. I mostly do computer programs with C++ or Python. Some other packages that I am familiar include, OpenCV, ROS, Eigen, Ceres-solver, Keras/Tensorflow. For my opensource contribution, have a look at my Github profile. Before joining the Ph.D. program at HKUST I spent one year doing research internships at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), Switzerland; University of Warwick, UK and SenoCAD research GmbH, Netherlands. I have completed my Undergraduate (Bachelors of Technology) from The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT), Jaipur, India in May 2012 in Communication and Computer Engineering (CCE).
